If you are looking for a builder then DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR GAVIN THORNLEY - this man is, in my opinion, a complete COWBOY. I appointed him to do an extension and he took a load of money up front for materials, did half the job and then stopped turning up, stopped answering my phone calls and texts. He left me with a house which wasn't even watertight after 8 months. I had many roofers round to give me quotes to fix his mess and many of them wouldn't even touch his work.I would have sued him but he put his company into liquidation after sending me an email saying that due to the pandemic and 'bad clients' he has unfortunately had to close the business. He rips people off and then closes the business about every 3 years and because it's a limited company there is nothing you can do about it from a legal point of view. I have since found out that he has done this many times to many people. If you are in need of builder, then the decent ones are not available for about a year. It's worth waiting. Please learn from my mistake as AVOID GAVIN THORNLEY AT ALL COSTS. He has cost me thousands of pounds and a huge amont of stress.
